    Description

This evocative Native American northwest Coast or Alaskan spirit mask was made by an Eskimo/Inuit tribal member and is signed on the interior : "Rosie Killbear".  It was traditionally made from caribou hided stretched over a mold and features openwork eyes and mouth, rounded cheeks and nose and has a fringe of brown fur and white wool to create a parka and fur used to create eyebrows and eyelashes. It is about 8" x 6.5": and is in nice original condition.  I think it dates to the 1970's.
